How Do I Become a Travel Nurse?

Travel nurse positions are short term assignments, normally 13 weeks, in a location and setting of your choosing. To be eligible for travel nurse staffing, you must have one year of hospital-based experience in your specialty area. There is a demand for nurses of all professions, but Registered Nurses are in especially high demand.

Once you've decided you'd like to move forward with travel nursing, be sure to follow these steps:

2. Discuss your career preferences with your recruiter. After you complete an application, one of our recruiters will contact you. Be sure to let him or her know what you want from your travel nurse position. Be clear about what you are looking for in your position: Do you want to work in a big city or small town? 3. Interview with the facility. This will be done by telephone, and will usually be with the nurse manager. Your recruiter will help you prepare for the interview and help you land the job of your choice.
